1. To make body and base, cut ball in half; slightly flatten bottom of one half. Cut off top 4" of cone; measure and mark 5" from cone base.

Silver Star Swag

1. Using stencil brush, paint front, back and sides of 1" thick foam stars; paint front and sides only of 1/2" thick stars. While wet, sprinkle stars with hologram glitter. Let dry on waxed paper.

Simple Woodland Santa

1. Spread glue over half of 3" dowel length; insert halfway into 3" foam ball. Spread glue over protruding dowel; insert into center top of foam cone. Note: The wood dowel joint adds stability to Santa's head and body. Repeat to glue cone onto foam disc, adding a 2" dowel joint between pieces.

1. To cut foam, wax the knife blade with an old candle for smoother cuts. Cut cones as follows: a. Small angel: Slice 1/2" from base and 5" from top b. Medium angel: Slice 1/2" from base and 4-1/2" from top c. Large angel: Slice 4-1/2" from top

Supersized Snowman

1. Wax knife blade of serrated knife with old candle; cut a small slice from bottom of 6" foam ball to flatten slightly. Press and twist 2-1/2" foam ball on center top of 6" ball until snug and then glue.

The Three Tenors: Caroling Snowmen

1. Cut slice from large end of 6" egg so it will stand; cut slice on an angle from small end of egg. Use serrated knife to cut foam; wax knife blade first with an old candle for easier, smoother cuts. Cut small slice from large end of 3" egg, which will be the head. Glue two eggs together, positioning head so it tilts slightly backward (see Figure 1). Using skewer or other pointed tool, poke a hole in center bottom of body.
