Flag "Quick Tuck" Wallhanging

1. To make rectangle, wax blade of knife and cut two 12" x 16-1/4" lengths from 1"x 12"x 36" sheet. Glue two pieces together along 16-1/4" edge, using glue and toothpicks between pieces. If using a larger 1"x 24"x 36" sheet, mark and cut a 24" x 16-1/4" piece.

Patriotic Starburst Bouquet

1. Apply sealer to clay pot and let dry. Paint clay pot, excluding rim, and wood dowels white. Paint pot rim blue, extending color 1" to inside top. Let dry. Sponge paint white portion of clay pot with blue, let dry, and then repeat with red (refer to photo).

Punch Quilt Flag

1. Measure and draw the flag design on the Styrofoam as shown on the diagram. Copy the star pattern onto a piece of paper, cut out. Pin in place in the center of the 4" x 5" section of the Styrofoam. Trace around with a marker, then remove.

Ritzy, Glitzy Star Topiary

1. Cut a 7-1/2" length from end of each star party pick. Discard white portion. From the remainder, form five uniform red/blue/silver bundles and tape one end of each to secure. Squeeze glue into taped end and allow to dry. Curl sea grass with a straight-blade scissors and star stems by wrapping them around your finger.

Starburst Centerpiece

1. Using the serrated knife, cut a 5" x 7" x 2" rectangle from the foam sheet. (Hint: For smoother cuts, wax the knife blade with an old candle.)

Starry, Starry Candle Centerpiece

1. Wax knife with candle stub or paraffin and then cut foam ball in half. (Hint: Reserve one half ball for a future project.)

1. Cut a 3/4" thick slice from the ball so it will stand; this is the vase bottom. (Hint: For smoother cuts, wax the knife blade with an old candle.) Cut a 1/2" slice from the top of the vase.

Uncle Sam Salutes STYROFOAM

d. Center a foot on 8" square of navy felt (round side down). Pull felt up tightly and glue to back of foot. Trim excess felt from back of shoe. Glue 4" square to bottom of shoe. When dry, trim away excess felt. e. Repeat for other shoe.
