Fitness Q&A

Do you feel that concentrated

Q: I have been on Weight Watcher's for years and as you can see by my weight, I have not committed to it for the long haul. I lost 47 pounds two years ago and have put it all back on due to stress eating, which pretty much consists of any sugary thing I can find. I would like to forego the diet plan mentality and just try to eat healthier, which brings me to my question. I am not a protein lover...as a matter of fact, I have a hard time getting meat, chicken and fish down at times. Sometimes, the thought of eating it gags me. I started having a Revival Soy Shake (the Splenda formula) with a cup of skim milk for breakfast each morning to get extra protein and found it really filled me up for a long time. But I recently read that Dr. Andrew Weil, a popular natural foods expert, feels that small doses of soy is fine but does not feel that having such concentrated forms of soy is good for a woman. Do you feel that concentrated forms of soy are bad?

My bodyfat was just measured at 7%.

Q: My bodyfat was just measured at 7%. I have been on a fat cutting diet since September Im now thinking about trying to add some muscle while still maintaining or loosing a little more fat. I have recently read about rotating between eating below maintenance level for 5 days and then above maintenance for 5 days in an effort to lose bodyfat and gain muscle mass. Is this a good, realistic strategy?
